7 Feb 2009, sent QiaoYi to Sunway Medical Centre for her scar treatment. It has come to the time that we had to make the decision to have this multiple injections treatment on her scar which is growing..doctor said it has become a living scar and must treat earlier before it spread to other unaffected area.
That was indeed a bad news for us. QiaoYi had her 2nd to 3rd degree burn on her lower abdomen and right thigh due to our negligent on 31st Aug 2008 at Sg Klah Hot Spring Resort. It was an unforgetable and scary accident and even until today, i have refused to recall how it happened as i just could not bear to see the scene where her skin came rolling down from her hand and body....God please forgive what we had done to the innocent girl ...
Sending her to the operating theatre room on that morning and seeing her frightened face was just too much for me...my heart was aching as she snoozed off after the doctor gave her some gas to make her sleep. I was requested to leave the surgery room when Dr Tan arrived to perform the treatment for her. While waiting outside the surgery room, i could feel that the needle was poking into my heart ...guessed the doctor was injecting her scar during that time too. My heart was crying and the feeling of guilt just won't go away...
Mulltiple jabs of steroid were injected to the scar in order to soften the scar and hoping it will become flatter. QiaoYi needs to undergo this type of treatment for at least 3 times depending on the scar's progress. Apart from this, a special silicon gel plaster need to paste on the scar before putting on the specially made pressure garment. She has to put on all these for 24 hours a day for at least a year. I think this is a lot for a 6 years old + to go through...
I am just hoping and praying hard that she will recover soon from all these though it may not be 100% and takes time too...Alas, i will hold on to the hope and believe GOD is always with us, have grace on us...
