Happy Holidays...

So much so I have written about Qiaoyi's keloid treatment in the past few posts. This time I would like to share something about her life going into the 1st half year of her Primary One.

Well, Qiaoyi is enrolled into the Chinese medium primary school like most Chinese parents would send their children to for the obvious reasons.

Qiaoyi attended her nursery and kindergarden in a Q-dees centre in the past 3 years. What she had learned in her kindy was more to montessori system and the kids are supposed to learn from play. In addition, the school will drill a lot on reading of a series of books franchised by the centre.

Qiaoyi was actually very happy during her three years sting there as I noticed. She was such a joyous devil compared with her two elder sisters. She is creative, expressive and would not hesitate to show her passionate love to all the family members by hugging and kissed them whenever she feels like too.

During her free time, she would always take an A4 size paper from her daddy's desk and start scatching and drawing about her family. She likes to draw all the family members standing in front of the house with lots of flowers around. She would draw her daddy wearing a songkok ( guessed this was what she had learned from her kindy in the Malay multimedia program where the ayah is always wearing a songkok ! ), her granny with short curly hairs ( that's how her granny looks like anyway..ha ! ), and she would draw her mummy holding hands together with the three girls side by side. A very nice picture she had painted since she was four years old. She never included her grandpa because she knew that he is now in heaven and will not be able to join us . However, she used to tell me that she loves her "yeh yeh" ( grandpa in Cantonese ) !

Going to primary one is a sudden change for her as she has to cope up with the heavy school homework and so many subjects to learn. What more, like all other parents, we also send her to the tuition classes few times a week afraid that she will leave behind...kiasu!!!

I spent most of the time at night checking through her homework and ensure that she completes all her works before go to sleep. She is a very obliging girl even though sometimes she would made some noises and complained about the heavy workload. I share her tiredness though....

Most of the Saturday or Sunday evening, Qiaoyi would request me to take her to the playground in front of our house to play with the swing. She likes to swing high up very much. As it is an open playground with very few trees surround the field, it is very windy during the evening time. Each time she swings she will shout in Mandarin " 好辛福啊 !"....I was so stunned at the very 1st time when I heard her shouting that words to the sky....how on earth she knew what is " 好辛福啊 !" but I truly believed she felt the happiness of freedom when she was swinging high up in the sky ! I was touched then ...I think our children need more space and carefree time to explore the nature than to spend all their time in studies, chasing after the 'A's. In fact, Qiaoyi has changed me a lot, in many ways !

Recently, she has just finished her mid-term exam. Qiaoyi studied quite hard preparing for her 1st ever exam and I guessed she was exhausted. So we promised her that after the exam, all of us will go for a short holiday during the school holidays ...of course, she was delighted to hear about it.

So, we are off to Swiss Garden Golf Resort at Damai Laut tomorrow morning for 3 days 2 nights stay with a friend's family. We are really looking forward to the beautiful sea, beaches, Qiaoyi's favourite kiddy pool, food, fun time , laughter and many more !!!

See you gals and guys again in my next post after the trip...do log in to my Facebook for the pictures ya !

Note : Qiaoyi is scheduling to take her 5th injection next week after returning from the trip. We hope she will enjoy her holiday before returning to hospital for treatment. May God be with her always....
